Personal data we collect

Please do not send sensitive personal information through a website form unless it is necessary for your enquiry.

How and why we use personal data

Cookies and third-party services

We use necessary cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure the website. Optional analytics or marketing technologies are used only in line with the choices available through our cookie banner. You can reject optional cookies or change your preferences through the cookie controls.

The website may use or link to services such as HubSpot, Calendly and WhatsApp. Those providers may receive technical or contact information when you use their features and will process it under their own privacy terms.

Who we share personal data with

We do not sell personal data. Where necessary, we may share it with website hosting and security providers, email and communications providers, CRM and form providers, booking providers, professional advisers, insurers, clients, vetted contractors and public authorities. We share only what is reasonably necessary and require service providers to protect personal data.

International transfers

Some technology providers may process personal data outside the UK. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards, we use an applicable UK adequacy regulation or approved contractual safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum.

How long we keep personal data

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose collected, including to meet legal, accounting, insurance and contractual requirements. Typical periods are:

We may keep information for longer where required by law, a dispute, an insurance matter or a safeguarding or security need. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.

Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal data, object to its use, and receive certain information in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. These rights are not absolute and exemptions may apply.

You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests and to object at any time to the use of your personal data for direct marketing.

To exercise a right, email info@specialisedlocksmiths.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Automated decision-making

We do not use information submitted through this website to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Visit ico.org.uk or call 0303 123 1113.

Children

This is a business-to-business website and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data through the website.

Specialised Connect Partner mobile app

This notice also applies to the Specialised Connect Partner app on Android and iOS and its related partner services. The app is for approved people working with us. We use account details to sign users in, manage their profile and availability, assign and record jobs, communicate about work, and provide support.

Depending on how you use the app, we process your name, email address, telephone number, business and payment information (including bank details), job and site addresses, job notes and messages, and photographs or documents you provide for work. Job information may include details supplied by clients or others involved in an instruction. We also process a user or account ID, device or app identifiers, notification tokens, IP address and security or diagnostic records needed for sign-in, app security, operation and push notifications. Camera or photo access is used when you choose to add job evidence and your device permits it.

We use this information to provide the app and manage our work with partners and clients, perform contracts, meet legal and accounting duties, and protect our systems and users. We do not use the partner app for advertising tracking or optional analytics and do not request the device’s precise location for tracking. A job or site address is still personal data where it identifies a person or property.

Relevant job details and evidence may be shared with the instructing client and the approved people carrying out or administering the work. Our hosting and communications providers process information to operate the service. Push notifications use Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android and Apple’s push notification service on iOS; these services process the app or device token and delivery information needed to send notifications. We do not sell app data. Providers may process data outside the UK subject to the safeguards described above.

Job, contractual and financial records are normally retained for up to seven years after the relevant transaction or relationship ends, subject to the exceptions above. Notification tokens and other operational identifiers are kept only while needed to run and secure the app or send notifications. You can turn off notifications in your device settings. To ask us to close your app account or delete personal data, email info@specialisedlocksmiths.com. We will remove or anonymise information we no longer need, while retaining records where a legal, contractual, insurance or dispute reason applies. The rights and contact details in this notice also apply to app users.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when our services, technology or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
